𝗧𝘄𝗼 𝗱𝗶𝗲 𝗶𝗻 𝗿𝗼𝗮𝗱 𝗰𝗿𝗮𝘀𝗵 𝗮𝘀 𝗱𝗿𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗿 𝗶𝘀 𝗮𝗿𝗿𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗰𝗮𝘂𝘀𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗱𝗲𝗮𝘁𝗵
Two people have died in a road crash that occurred this morning at Musanya area, some 54Km north of Chinsali district on the Great North Road.
The driver, Geoffrey Mulambia aged 32, has been “detained for causing death by dangerous”.
According to Muchinga Province Police Deputy Commissioner Lucky Buumba Munkondya, the accident happened when the driver crashed into a stationary truck that broke down.
She attributes the crash to over speeding.
Three passengers were aboard the south bound In Transit vehicle.
One of the passengers is 58-year-old Joseph Mwamba of Seed Farm in Chinsali who died on the spot while the other is a five-year-old girl named Nelie Muzah of Kitwe “who sustained head injuries and died upon arrival at Isoka district hospital”.
Mrs Munkondya says driver has been treated as an outpatient.
A 30-year-old woman identified as Jacqueline Muzah is receiving treatment at the hospital in Isoka.
