President HAKAINDE HICHILEMA has pardoned one thousand and five inmates to commemorate the Africa Freedom Day which falls on May 25, 2024.

Acting Home Affairs Minister AMBROSE LUFUMA has disclosed the Development in Lusaka.

Mr. LUFUMA said the one thousand and five pardoned inmates include 939 ordinary inmates, 39 old ones, eight females with circumstantial children and four foreigners.

He also revealed that 15 inmates whose sentences have been commuted are among the recipients of the Presidential prerogative of mercy.

Mr. LUFUMA said the President has exercised his Prerogative of mercy in line with article 97 of the Constitution.
