Democratic Union President Ackim Antony Njobvu has described the 2021-2026 Parliament as a “disaster”, saying voters are dissatisfied with most MPs’ performance both in the House and in their constituencies.

Speaking Wednesday morning on Pan African Radio’s People’s Debate, Njobvu criticized the pace at which bills had been pushed through Parliament without adequate stakeholder engagement.

“The rush in pushing bills in parliament without adequate stakeholder engagement has been unfortunate,” he said.

The opposition leader also said the performance of UPND MPs in recent primary elections was an indication that people were unhappy with their representatives.

Parliament was dissolved ahead of the 13 August 2026 general elections, with political parties now conducting adoptions and primaries countrywide.
