KABWE Nkunta, 24, is among the successful 52 lawyers that were called to the bar on Wednesday.
Out of 438 who sat for 2021/2022 Legal Practitioners’ Qualification Examinations (LPQE) at Zambia Institute of Advanced Legal Education (ZIALE) only 52 cleared.

This is the highest first-attempt pass rate representating a percentage of 11.9 in comparison to the 0.3 percent in 2021 examinations.
Mr Nkunta says the examinations which comprises 11 heads (subjects) demand hardwork, sacrifices as well as dedication.
Mr Nkunta said it took him about 10 to 11 months to finish his qualification heads which ran from October 2021 to September 2022. He said the pass rate at ZIALE is 50 percent.
“I thank my mother [Doris Kasote] who let me choose my career. She gave me the autonomy to set big challenges for myself without interfering. I can say she is the biggest part of my inspiration. Without her, I wouldn’t have succeeded,” said Mr Nkunta.

He said he wants to go into private practice to learn the ropes. Mr Nkunta said for now his ambition is open ended but later he would like to manage his own legal firm.
