Byta FM reports that Amos Chisanga, a 26-year-old grade 12 pupil at Riverview Primary and Secondary in Kazungula district, has been arrested for allegedly defiling a 13-year-old grade 9 schoolmate.

The incident was reported to Kazungula Police Station by the victim’s father on July 2, 2024, at noon.

According to Southern Province Commissioner of Police, Auxensio Daka, the victim had followed a Makishi dancer with her friends and later encountered the suspect.

He took her to his friend’s house, where she spent the night.

The girl’s parents began searching for her and were eventually led to her location by one of her friends who had seen her with the suspect.
