Brief facts of the matter are that the mother to the victim has been staying with her grandmother after they went on separation with her husband, the father to her daughter.
On 16 June 2024, the mother to the victim travelled to Luanshya to seek employment and left the child in the custody of her grandmother.
But on 29 June 2024, she received a telephone call informing her that her daughter had been defiled and taken to the hospital.
She travelled back and further learnt that her husband used to come to get the victim taking her to his house where she could spend a night with him and only brought her back the following day.
The mother to the victim was informed that on 28 June 2024 when the grandmother wanted to bath the child, it was observed that she complained of pains on her genitals.
When asked what happened, the victim narrated that her father had inserted something in her private parts.
The matter was reported to Lubuto police post where a medical report form was issued and the child was taken to Arthur Davison children’s hospital where she was examined and treated.
Arrest made on the said suspect and meanwhile the medical report form is pending to be signed at the hospital and more to follow.
