In the second quarter of 2024, Zambia recorded 9,318 cases of Gender-Based Violence (GBV), according to the Zambia Police.
This represents a reduction of 670 cases compared to the same period in 2023, which had 9,988 incidences.
The victims of GBV included 2,505 children, with 552 boys and 1,562 girls.
6,813 adults experienced abuse, with 5,426 being women and 1,387 men.
