USA’s oldest death row inmate Carl Wayne Buntion, 78, is set to be executed tomorrow, April 21, 2022, reports The Sun.

After 30 years on death row, many thought that Buntion would die in jail before being executed.

He was convicted in 1991 for the murder of a Huston police officer a year earlier and he is due for execution via lethal injection tomorrow.
Buntion says he regrets his actions.

“Every day for the last 32 years I have regretted what happened,” Buntion said during the interview with KHOU 11 News Reporter Grace White.

His lawyers argue that executing the ailing Buntion 30 years after his crime would constitute “cruel and unusual punishment.”
