Yemi Alade’s visa is denied by Canada; Sampa the Great is substituted

Nigerian pop artist Yemi Alade has been refused entrance by Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada.

As a result, the concert on the big outdoor stage that was supposed to round off this edition of the festival on Sunday has been postponed.
Young Zambian rapper Sampa The Great, will step in for the well-known performer on short notice.

The festival’s director announced at the conclusion of the day on Thursday that Sampa The Great, another equally great star of African youth, who is shaking the world with her music and its rhythms with many influences, will finish the event for circumstances without of our control.
