We are experiencing a lot of suicides and murder of late, and it is very sad that people have to go through certain horrific experiences to resort to suicide. We mourn with the families and friends of all the people that have died, as they are going through sudden loss of life due to suicide or murder.
Peter Kunda apparently killed himself in Kabwe 2 days ago after quarrelling with the wife. People are saying that the wife was cheating on him. Another man killed himself in Chelstone- Lusaka yesterday apparently because the wife was cheating on him. Whether those are the real reasons or not, there is nothing worth taking your life over. And if you have a cheating spouse, you can simply divorce them. Don’t kill your partner or kill yourself. There is life after divorce and for most people it is even better than their married lives. Live life for yourself and children and do not worry so much about what people will say to the extent of losing your own life. God hates divorce, but even in the Bible it is permissible on account of cheating.
It is too late to advise our two brothers, BUT to you all reading this that are going through rough times in your marriages or relationships, murder and suicide should not even be your options. Peter apparently asked to talk to all his children before he killed himself, does he have an idea how traumatic his death is and will continue to be on his kids? Yes, they apparently had issues with his wife, but he should have thought of his children. Killing oneself is very selfish, especially when you are a parent. And also think of eternal condemnation that comes with suicide, is it worth it really? You suffer on earth, but suffer in eternity in death. May God have mercy on his soul. For him to kill himself he must have indeed been going through a very bad time in his life, but this was not the solution. So God have mercy on his soul we pray.
