National Breweries Plc has launched its new Chibuku super banana flavored beer, following consumer feedback that they wanted something flavored and easy to consumer even by elite women.
National Breweries Plc Managing Director Kenneth Mapingire said the banana flavored beer is more less a cider, as consumer previously had to mix milk, yoghurt or other products in order to add flavour to their beer.
Mr Mapingire said previously, there were women who were not used to drink the ordinary Chibuku, hence, the banana flavored drink is mild and suitable for the consumer market that was not taking it before.
He said the new package is also suitable for new consumers, as it has an acquired taste that is particularly appealing to women.
And Mr Mapingire said owing to the illicit brews that have ravaged mostly the youths, as they contain alcohol levels that are not moderated, the new Chibuku will be a recommended product that supports responsible drinking.
He said National Breweries Plc is strict on retailers who are cautioned against selling the beer to under age consumers, while also encouraging responsible drinking.
