A 40-year-old nurse of Katete has been sued by her brother for withdrawing her children from school and enrolling them in an imaginary school where she says Jesus is their teacher.

The brother, Juvancio Phiri, has applied to take full custody of the children from his sister, Cecilia Phiri, who withdrew her three children from school last February on the grounds that she was preparing them for heaven.

Ms Phiri’s family only learnt about the children’s predicament when her eldest child informed them that the mother did not want to take him and his three siblings to the school.
