A 50-year-old woman has burnt the private parts of her husband with hot water, in Kangonga area of Masaiti, on the Copperbelt, after a misunderstanding over land.
The victim, identified as MUMBA MALIFWA, aged 79, has also suffered severe burns on the thighs, legs and buttocks.
Copperbelt Province Police Commissioner, PEACEWELL MWEEMBA identified the suspect as INNES KUNDA who committed the crime with her friend ROSE KUNDA, aged 48.
Mr. MWEEMBA says this happened last night, after Mr MALIFWA refused to sell part of the family farm land, as demanded by his wife and her friend.
He has explained that the misunderstanding started as Mr MALIFWA, his wife, INNES and her friend, were seated around the fire, on which there was a pot of boiling water.
Mr MWEEMBA says when the argument escalated, the two women allegedly grabbed the pot from the fire and poured it on Mr MALIFWA’s private parts.

He has added that Mr MALIFWA was rushed to a local health centre and further concealed what had happened, however the situation worsened and the family was forced to report to the police.
The suspects have since been apprehended and are in police custody.
