IN trying to recreate a ‘Hammer House of Horror’ stunt, a 29-year-old Lusaka based film maker has been arrested for Criminal Trespass after being found filming inside Kafue Hospital Mortuary.

Minister of Health Sylvia Masebo has stated that through collaboration with the Global Fund, the Ministry of Health, and the Churches Health Association of Zambia, has made significant progress in reducing new HIV infections and improving the lives of over 1.2 million Zambians living with the virus.

She said this during a press briefing, Wednesday, sharing highlights for the new Global Fund grant opportunity to help in the responses for HIV/AIDS, TB, Malaria and COVID-19 which is worth 349 million US dollars for the period 2024 to 2026.
Masebo said the Ministry’s resilient health systems are responsive to the needs of all Zambians, including adolescents and those who are differently abled.

She said the government remains dedicated in its commitment to eliminating TB by 2030, and is grateful for the Global Fund’s investments in TB detection, diagnosis, and treatment.

Masebo however, said COVID-19 continues to threaten the nation, but with the support of the Global Fund and the Government, the Ministry has invested over 9 million US Dollars in critical infrastructure such as oxygen plants, ventilators, and rapid diagnostic tests.
The Minister has indicated that these investments will go a long way in enhancing health security and response to emergencies and outbreaks like COVID-19.

Masebo expressed gratitude to the Global Fund for their incredible partnership with the Government in the fight against HIV/AIDS, TB, Malaria, and COVID-19.
