Zambia’s Yasa grannies football club has been eliminated from the grannies international tournament after a 3-2 defeat at the hands of Kwazulu Natal KZN Gogos football club of South Africa.
This was in the second game of group E of the grannies international tournament being held in South Africa.
This was the second loss suffered by Zambian grannies having lost 1 nil to Northern star in the opening game.
In the first half of the game KZN dominated play scoring 2 quick goals taking the game to halftime on a 2 nil score line.
However in the second half Yasa grannies Captain Lillian Zulu scored a brace to equalize for Zambia.
Zambia could however not hold on to the draw as they allowed a goal in the dying last 25 minutes forcing the game to end on a 3-2 scoreline.

Yasa grannies captain Lillian Zulu says she is happy with the team’s performance in today’s game despite the loss.
Zulu say the team played more like a unit but she is disappointed that the team has been eliminated as she was hoping to go further in the competition.
“We have played well today than we played yesterday and I am happy we have gained experience despite the loss” Zulu said.
Yasa Coach Collin Muuma says the team lost concentration in the last minutes of the game hence the loss.
Muuma says it’s disappointing to have been eliminated but happy that the team has gotten exposure adding that valuable lessons have be learned and believes the team will do better next time.
“We have learned a number of good lessons and have gotten the needed exposure and I believe we will do better in the next competition “ Muuma said.
Zambia will this afternoon play the last group E game against Florima of USA in a formality game.#
