A 22-year old Taxi Driver of Chawama Compound in Lusaka has been arrested for allegedly raping a 23-year old lady who had booked him.
LITIYA IMBUWA was booked by the lady who was having fun with her friends at a named night club and on the way home, he allegedly stopped the car and pulled the lady out of the vehicle before raping her yesterday around 04:00hrs.
Zambia Police Deputy Spokesperson DANNY MWALE says the suspect later fled the scene, forcing the victim to report the matter to Chawama Police Station.
Mr. MWALE says the taxi driver was later apprehended by Police officers after receiving a tip from a member of the public.
He told ZNBC news this morning that the victim was given a medical report while the suspect is in Police custody.
