Police in Isoka are investigating a case in which a 14-Year-Old girl has reportedly been sexually abused by her cousin and infected with Sexually transmitted Infections.
The victim stays with her Aunt who is also the suspect’s mother.
She opened up to a Clinic Officer at one of the health facilities in Isoka District where she went to seek treatment.
She narrated that her cousin aged 24 years, whose name is withheld in this report, has been forcefully sleeping with her since May 1, 2023.
She added that this has happened severally whenever they have been left alone at home.
Muchinga Province police Commissioner Kaunda Mubanga has comfirmed the incident saying this has been happening until when the girl started complaining of abdominal pains.
Mr Mubanga says, the minor decided to go to the hospital on Monday where she got diagnosed with an STI and when interviewed she confided in the Clinic Officer about the issue who reported the matter to the police.
