Yesterday, Sampa took over the PF secretariat in Lusaka where he declared that no one will be allowed in until an elective general conference is held to elect a new leader.

Sampa declared himself interim president and Secretary General of the party while reiterating his position that the current makeshift leadership of the PF was illegal.

In reacting to the takeover, Mwamba told Kalemba that the PF would not be distracted by sponsored activities meant at destroying the party.

“We are aware and we have solid evidence that Miles Sampa is working closely with the UPND government on his mission to destroy the Patriotic Front,” Mwamba said.

He said Zambia was multi-party Democracy in which the opposition was an integral ingredient.

“Just like he [Miles Sampa] failed to destroy when he left and formed his party, the generosity to accept him back will not be a ticket for him to finish the work he started in 2016,” Mwamba said.

He said the party expected Police to act immediately against crimes of trespass, malicious damage to property occasioned at the party headquarters.

Further, Mwamba said the party had secured its premises against any attacks and intrusion and would not allow “lawlessness and thuggery”.

He said the party had planned for mass rallies to mobilise and speak to Zambians across the country.

“We have also planned for both Constitutional and Extra-Ordinary Conferences.
Our commitment to be an effective opposition party will not be derailed by those impostors and elements planted to destroy the party,” Mwamba warned.
