A GRADE Seven pupil in Chama, Eastern Province, has been killed by lions while returning from studying for the final examinations that are currently underway.
His father told the Daily Mail that Francis Mumba, 17, of Nchelenje village under Chief Chifunda, was attacked and killed by lions on Monday around 19:00 hours while returning home from studying at Mukwezi Primary School.

“My son had gone to school to study with his friends. He went to prepare for mathematics and special paper I that he was supposed to write today (yesterday), but on his way back home he was attacked by a pride of lions,” Nevas Mumba said.
Mr Mumba said after killing the boy, the lions started eating some of the body parts.
However, the body was eventually retrieved.
