A 35-year-old woman of Kalulushi identified as Ethel Kaluba has committed su!c!de by ha#ging herself with a chitenge material following a marital dispute.
According to Copperbelt Province Police Commanding Officer Peacewell Mweemba, the incident occurred yesterday around 14:30 and was reported to police by the victim’s sister Gwen Kaluba.
Mr Mweemba says facts of the matter are that the deceased’s husband identified as Fred Mwansa who works at Kagem knocked off from work in the afternoon and later received information that his wife who worked at a named guesthouse, was seen with another while at work.
He says later, Mr. Mwansa confronted his wife when she returned home where the argument escalated and that during the altercation, their 7-year-old daughter rushed to inform the victim’s sister.
Mr Mweemba says when the deceased’s sister arrived at the place, she found her sister had hanged herself while her husband had left home.
He says the body was taken to Kalulushi General Hospital where she was pronounced dead and has since been deposited in the mortuary awaiting postmortem.
