NYIMBA MAN GETS 20 YEARS FOR TAKING LIFE OF STEPFATHER

A 42-year-old man of Chief Ndake’s area in Nyimba District has been sentenced to 20 years imprisonment with hard labour for taking the life of his stepfather.
Lusaka Judge SITUMBEKO CHOCHO, who was sitting in Chipata jailed DANIEL ZULU of Ngulube village after convicting him of the offence.
ZULU hit the deceased with a bamboo stick on August 16, 2021.
Both the deceased and the convict were drunk on the material day.
In her judgement, Judge CHOCHO said she considered the mitigation by the defence that the convict was the first offender and was also remorseful.
The sentence is with effect from August 16th 2021 when he was arrested.
