UPND PRAISES ZESCO DEAL

The United Party for National Development –UPND- in Southern Province is optimistic that the power supply agreement signed by ZESCO with Skyline power global will help businesses affected by load shedding.
UPND Provincial Youth Publicity Secretary Lloyd Siambeta says once the supply of the agreed 1-thousand megawatts starts, many struggling small businesses such as barbershops and welders will benefit from reduced load shedding.
Siambeta has told Byta FM Zambia News that the UPND Government is concerned with the plight of the local people hence the move to purchase more electricity to boost the local economies across the country.
He has since advised households and business houses to ensure smart use of electricity by turning off appliances not in use.
Last week, ZESCO signed a contract with Skyline Power Global for the supply of 1000 megawatts.
