Republican President and Commander-in-Chief of the Defence Force, Mr Hakainde Hichilema has promoted Lieutenant Colonel Innocent Mutinta to the rank of Colonel.
Speaking during the interview and promotion ceremony at Army headquarters in Lusaka today, 2 May, 2024, Commander Zambia Army, Lieutenant General Sitali Dennis Alibuzwi said the promotion is in pursuant to article 165 of the Defence Act, chapter 106 volume 8 of the laws of Zambia.
“By the powers confered in the office of the Army Commander, I do hereby promulgate your promotion to the rank of colonel authorised by the President who is the commissioning authority pursuant to section 10 of the Defence Act, congratulations and God bless you,” Lt Gen Alibuzwi stated.
Lt Gen Alibuzwi said the President is pleased to promote Col Mutinta to his new rank as he has distinguished himself in the performance of outstanding service in the Zambia Army.
He said Col Mutinta’s dynamic leadership and exemplary foresight consistently forged powerful results in every area of endevour resulting in the increased effectiveness and success of the army.
Also in attendance of the solo ceremony was Deputy Army Commander and Chief of Staff, Major General Geoffrey Chongo Zyeele and some heads of branches from Army headquarters.
