Founded in 2017 in Seattle, Washington, USA, GGY Collections embodies the vision and creativity of its founder and creator, Grace Maseko Chirwa. Grace, a mother of two and a healthcare professional, draws inspiration from her upbringing in Zambia, Central Africa, where she was instilled with values of community service and hard work by her parents.
Growing up with 11 siblings, Grace was surrounded by her mother’s initiatives in community empowerment, particularly in women’s development and entrepreneurship.
These experiences ignited Grace’s passion for fashion, which she further nurtured through her father’s teachings on the importance of perseverance and dedication. Thus, the name “GGY Collections” was born, a fusion of Grace’s first name and her father’s middle name, Glory.
GGY Collections specializes in haute couture, crafting elegant, vibrant, and well-fitted garments that celebrate the uniqueness of every body type. Evolving beyond haute couture, GGY Collections is now expanding into athleisure and ready-to-wear lines, aiming to inspire a more diverse and inclusive audience while advocating for a healthy lifestyle to prevent heart diseases in communities.
Since its inception, GGY Collections has graced numerous fashion shows with its exquisite designs. From its debut at the Women’s Hats & Tea Party to the African print-inspired collection launched in honor of Grace’s heritage, each showcase has been a testament to GGY Collections’ commitment to celebrating culture and individuality. Notable milestones include participation in Ebony Fashion Week Seattle and fundraisers for charity events, demonstrating GGY Collections’ dedication to community engagement.
