Mpongwe man murders friend after refusing to share piece work money

A 35-YEAR-OLD man of Mpongwe district in Copperbelt province has been arrested after he allegedly murdered his colleague for refusing to give him his share of the money they worked for together.

Copperbelt Province Outgoing Police Commanding officer, Peacewell Mweemba confirmed both the incident and arrest.

According to Mweemba, Joseph Nshabila murdered Peter Chimbaya aged 42, from his home.

Nshabila followed Chimbaya at his home to demand for part of the money that the two had worked for, but that the deceased refused to give him as he was in a drunken state.

However, the drunken state was no excuse to broke Nshabila who was not ready to leave his money behind.

His temper, empowered by the pinghing economy suddenly rose highter than the negative numbers in his account.

Immediately, he picked a brick, which he used to hit the chibuku out of Chimbaya’s head, and by the time he was landing on the ground, his mind was sober.

After the Goliath fall, Chimbaya was immediately rushed to Machiya Rural health centre where he was unfortunaly pronounced dead upon arrival.

“The body has since been deposited in Mpongwe mission hospital awaiting postmortem and burial while the suspect is currently in police custody,” said Mweemba.
