Elijah Sichone has been appointed as Director General of the Energy Regulation Board (ERB) with effect from 16th August 2024.

Relaying the development in a statement, ERB Board of Directors Chairperson, James Banda, stated that Sichone brings a wealth of experience to the energy sector, having worked in the field for over three decades.

Sichone previously worked for the then Ministry of Energy and Water Development and the ERB during its inception before moving to the National Energy Regulator of South Africa.

Until his appointment, Sichone served as the Executive Director at the Regional Energy Regulators Association of Southern Africa, based in Windhoek, Namibia.
