Two people have died in a fire incident that occurred today morning in Lusaka’s Tokyo Way Market, Ring Road near Misisi Shoprite.

The fire which is believed to have started around mid-night claimed the lives of the two people who are yet to be identified.

LCC public relations officer CHOLA MWAMBA says the cause of the fire is not yet known but is believed that the flames were coming from furniture, tyres and brooms kept inside the stalls.
She says the extent of the damage caused by the fire is yet to be ascertained.

And MWAMBA also says the two bodies have since been disposed in the University Teaching Hospital (UTH) mortuary.
