5 DIE IN CHISAMBA ACCIDENT
Monday,October 14th, 2024 – Five people have died in a road traffic accident, which happened today at a curve near Golden Valley along the Great North Road in Chisamba around 07:20 hours.
The accident happened when the driver of a Sino truck water bowser Reg. No. AGB 9618 was overtaking improperly, in the process colliding with a Toyota Vitz, Reg. No. BAG 2972 driven by Bwalya Kasonde, aged 32 of Chilanga. The Vitz was coming from the Lusaka direction. The Sino truck coming from the opposite direction was supplying water to the company constructing the dual carriage road.
The driver of the Toyota Vitz and three passengers died on the spot, while the fourth passenger died whilst receiving treatment at Liteta Hospital. The driver of the Sino truck escaped unhurt.
The five bodies have been deposited in Liteta Hospital Mortuary awaiting postmortem.
