Mansa Central Member of Parliament, Dr. Chitalu Chilufya, says former President Michael Sata should serve as a powerful reminder of the urgent need to reset the country’s multiparty democracy amid the unprecedented toxic political landscape being experienced.
In a post to commemorate the 10th anniversary of Sata’s passing, Chilufya said the former president’s life was a testament to actions that fostered values of reconciliation and forgiveness.
He cautioned that if the nation continues to clash on nearly every issue, Zambia risks descending into even deeper divisions.
Chilufya encouraged Zambians to embrace each other with love, as seen in the unrestrained character and humanity of Sata.
He added that Sata was the champion of the impoverished, always standing firmly by society’s most vulnerable, and stated that his unbreakable bond with the poor remains a timeless standard for public service.
