A 13-year-old boy from Lusaka’s Shalom area, accused of tattooing his friends, has been arrested and charged with unlawful wounding.
According to Police Spokesperson Rae Hamoonga, the minor has since been released on police bond.
Mr. Hamoonga has further disclosed that the boy’s father was briefly taken into custody for his own safety after an angry mob attempted to attack him.
However, the families of the tattooed boys have expressed dissatisfaction with how the case is being handled.
They claim they were not consulted prior to the boy’s release and remain uncertain about the case’s progress.
Some mothers of the affected boys have raised concerns over their children’s behavior, which they describe as strange since the incident.
They fear the situation could escalate if the matter is not properly addressed.
Meanwhile, the family of the accused has vacated their home, reportedly due to fears for their safety.
