Livingstone man stabs to death CCPU member for “flirting with wife”

A 34 year old man of Livingstone has been locked behind bars after playing hide and seek with authorities when all fingers pointed at him for murdering a Community Crime Prevention Unity (CCPU) member.

It is reported that the CCPU member Adreck Munsaka, 39, was trying to arrest the suspect Webster Kapuyi last Monday which led to confrontation and eventually the stab.

Munsaka was stabbed multiple times, resulting in fatal injuries which eventually led to his death.

Following the incident, police launched a manhunt for Kapuyi who had fled but was eventually arrested in the Senkobo area of Kazungula district.

A knife, believed to be the murder weapon, was recovered from the suspect.

During questioning, Kapuyi confessed to the crime, citing jealousy as the motive.

He blamed the deceased for allegedly having an intimate relationship with his wife Dorica Moola while the couple had just had a marital dispute.

“He admitted to have stabbed and killed male Adreck Munsaka on allegations that he was flirting with his wife Dorica Moola aged 29 years, hence, this agitated him when he saw the deceased coming to arrest him for an unknown offence,” Southern Province Commanding Officer Auxensio Daka disclosed.

“[Kapuyi was warned and cautioned] awaiting to be charged and arrested with Murder C/Sec 200 CAP 87 of the penal code of the laws of Zambia. He is remanded in police Custody.”

Munsaka’s was laid to rest on Thursday after a post-mortem examination confirmed multiple stab wounds, including a fatal injury to the heart.

“The body of the deceased male Adreck Munsaka was put to rest on 05/12/24 at Nakatindi cemetery after an autopsy was conducted by Dr Chewele and finding were multiples injuries with penetrating injury to the heart and cervical spinal dislocation as the cause of death.”

Kapuyi remains in police custody and is expected to be formally charged with murder…
