A 42-YEAR-OLD businessman of Chipangali has been killed by three suspected Malawian criminals, who also left his daughter, 19, unconscious after attacking them on their way back from buying groceries for her school.
Jacob Mwale died on the spot after being hit by a suspected metal object on the head by the three robbers, who went away with the motorbike and other groceries.
Eastern Province police commanding officer Robertson Mweemba said Mr Mwale’s daughter, Iness, was also hit on the head and sustained multiple body injuries.
The incident happened at around 18:30 hours at Kadiula A Section near Nkalinkali stream in Chipangali on Sunday.
“They were attacked by three unknown male persons, who robbed them of an unregistered Gatoma motorbike, blue in colour, engine number and chassis not yet known.
The value of the motorbike is not yet ascertained. “The criminals got away with groceries and other items valued at K1,500.”
