Up your game in communication, Mweetwa tells PROs
GOVERNMENT has called upon public relations officers in local authorities to up their game in the dissemination of information on various government projects being implemented by their respective councils.
Information and Media minister Cornelius Mweetwa lamented that the PRO’s have not been able to communicate effectively on massive projects like the Constituency Development Fund (CDF).
He told the officers to make a cordial relationship with the media if they are to see positive change in their dissemination of information.
Mweetwa further stated that the Ministry of Information and Media was available to offer solutions and a helping hand in disseminating information.
“Your government looks at you in the implementations of those projects, we can make those pronouncements but you are the implementors. Work closely with the Ministry of Information but more importantly work closely with the media,” stated Mweetwa.
The Minister said this in Choma yesterday when he opened a two day training workshop for Local authority public relations officers and the principal public relations officers from Lusaka, Southern and Western Provinces.
