Determined to ensure that vulnerable children attain an education, Acquire to Share Foundation braved the cold weather on Sunday, washing people’s cars in an effort to build a community school.

And the foundation says it is focused on contributing to the well – being and livelihoods vulnerable children and women in communities across the country.

The foundation held a fundraising car wash in Lusaka’s Kamwala south to raise resources for the construction of a community school in Chongwe that will benefit hundreds of vulnerable children.

Addressing the media during the event, foundation’s executive director, Victoria Kayeye Yambani said the aim was to compliment government’s effort’ in providing access to education for all.

Yambani explained that main reason for the community school is adopting children that have lagged behind in terms of education.

Once completed, the school will also be offering learners other incentives such as the school – feeding program.

“We have already procured a plot in Chongwe and now we are trying to put up a community school that will cater for hundreds of children in that community, and we are basically doing this to ensure that the children have access to education,” Yambani said.

Yambani further said her foundation wants to address the issue of street kids by offering them an opportunity to acquire an education.

“Government alone cannot address these issues, but needs the private sector as well organizations like ours, hence this fundraising venture for a school,” she said.

Meanwhile, Yambani thanked her partners and well wishes that have been contributing to the well-being of vulnerable persons in society.

“We are still calling on others to partner with us in uplifting lives of the needy in our communities so that we can together make a change,” she added.
