Lusaka, 30th October,2025-The Republican Progressive Party (RPP) is calling on the youths and women of Zambia to rise, register as voters, and actively participate in the 2026 general elections. Our nation needs young people and women not only as voters, but also as candidates at all levels; Councilors, Council chairpersons, Mayors and Members of Parliament. This is your moment to lead and shape the future.

Zambia today enjoys a peaceful and democratic environment that supports free political participation. Young people must not fear the electoral process or shy away from contesting public office. Winning and losing are both part of the democratic journey. Some will win the first time, while others may learn and return stronger. What matters is taking part.

Democracy thrives when all citizens engage. The current administration has encouraged broader youth and women participation, and it is important to take advantage of this opportunity. Leadership must be earned by competence, integrity, ideas, and capacity to serve, not by seniority or length of party membership. It is time to judge leaders by what they can offer the nation.
We also urge all political parties to adopt more youths and women in the 2026 elections so that we build an inclusive and forward-looking Zambia.

In line with our commitment to empowering future leaders, the Republican Progressive Party will soon launch the Hakainde Hichilema School of Politics, a platform designed to equip aspiring leaders with knowledge in public finance, economics, leadership and governance, decentralisation, and local government management. This will prepare young people to lead with competence and discipline.

To the youths of Zambia: stand up, participate, and do not fear losing. Losing is part of learning, and every great leader has walked that path. Your voice, energy, and participation are necessary for a stronger Zambia.
We thank you.
