President’s Chingola Address Disrupted by Unruly Crowd

By Luckson Mwale

A scheduled presidential address at the recently gutted Chiwempala Market in Chingola was abruptly cut short after a group of unruly individuals disrupted the event.

The President had spoken for only about two minutes when some members of the crowd began chanting “Senseli, Senseli” and throwing stones toward the podium. Security officers quickly intervened and escorted the President and other officials to safety.

Panic ensued as people fled the area while law enforcement officers worked to restore order.

The address was meant to reassure affected traders of a K10 million government relief package following the market fire, but the event ended prematurely due to the violent disturbance.
