Chasefu Independent Parliamentary Aspirant, Captain Towani Chipeta, has donated a total of 5,000 courses of anti‑malaria drugs to all health care facilities in Chasefu District, Eastern Province.

Chief Phikamalaza has stated that Chipeta’s donation comes at a critical time when the district has recorded a rise in malaria cases, underscoring the importance of well‑stocked medical facilities in safeguarding public health.

He emphasised that reliable access to medicines ensures timely treatment and reduces preventable deaths, particularly among vulnerable groups such as children and expectant mothers.

Chief Phikamalaza expressed gratitude for the gesture, noting that the support would ease the burden on overstretched clinics and improve community confidence in local health services.

The donation covered all twenty‑one health facilities in Chasefu District, namely Kanyanga Mission Hospital, Chasefu Mini Hospital, Chasefu Rural Health Centre, Khuli‑khuli, Khuyu, Munyukwa, Nkhanga, Boyole, Kapekesa, Manyi, Lusuntha, Zasp Kakoma Clinic, Phikamalaza Rural Health Centre, Hoya Clinic, Kamzoole Clinic, Mtwalo, Malandula, Egicikeni, Mwata Lunzi Clinic, Khulamayembe Clinic, and Champero Rural Health Centre.

In addition to the medicines, Captain Chipeta previously financed the drilling of fourteen boreholes across all ten wards of Chasefu, including Mandahill, Susa, Kajilime, Lubelezi, Magodi, Chizingizi, Nkhanga, Kapilisanga, Membe, and Chaboli.

Chief Phikamalaza explained that the boreholes have already transformed daily life by providing safe water for households, livestock, and gardening activities.

He observed that these initiatives reflect a broad commitment to improving health, education, and livelihoods in a climate‑stressed district.
