Chief Justice Dr Mumba Malila has mourned the passing of Justice Dr Winnie Sithole Mwenda, who at the time of her death was Judge in Charge of the General Division of the High Court at Ndola.
In a message of condolences on the Judiciary of Zambia Facebook page, Malila expressed that the Judiciary of Zambia had suffered a profound and irreplaceable loss.
He emphasised that Mwenda was a legal luminary of exceptional intellect and integrity.
The Chief Justice observed that her balanced approach to the bench ensured fairness and impartiality in all matters.
He remarked that she embodied the highest ethical standards in her judicial service.
Malila noted that her temperate personality inspired confidence in the administration of justice.
He highlighted that she was not only a dedicated servant of justice but also a mentor to many within the profession.
The Chief Justice stressed that her sudden departure was a great shock to the legal fraternity and the nation.
He conveyed his deepest condolences to the bereaved family and the people of Zambia.
Malila affirmed that the Almighty God would grant comfort and strength during this difficult time.
