Family Development Initiatives (FDI) has welcomed the Government’s forthcoming resumption of the Cash for Work Programme at the end of the month of February as announced by the Government.
FDI Team Leader Sheikh Yusuf Ayami explained that the initiative will help vulnerable families access temporary employment while contributing to community development.
He emphasised that the verification of beneficiaries is a vital step in ensuring fairness and transparency.
The Muslim Faith Leader observed that improved monitoring systems will enhance accountability and efficiency in the programme’s delivery.
Sheikh Ayami noted that settling outstanding allowances demonstrates the Government’s commitment to supporting those who rely on the scheme.
He highlighted that the revised guidelines will provide clearer direction for both beneficiaries and implementers, in line with FDI’s vision of building thriving families.
The Faith Leader affirmed that the Cash for Work Programme remains an important pillar in Zambia’s broader social protection strategy.
