Governance and Development Advocates Zambia GODAZA strongly condemn the actions of some councillors who have been discrediting the endorsement of President Hakainde Hichilema.

Executive Director Elias Mulenga says this behaviour is a betrayal of the developmental progress that the country has made, particularly with the Constituency Development Fund (CDF) now available in all councils.

Mulenga said the CDF, a flagship initiative of President Hichilema’s government, has brought development to the grassroots, without regard to political affiliation.

Mulenga said Councillors should be focused on implementing development projects, not engaging in retrogressive politics.

Mr Mulenga has urged political parties and the public to reject these negative actions and support development-oriented leaders.

He said Councillors who oppose progress should not be adopted or allowed to contest in 2026.

He has since called on all stakeholders to unite behind President Hichilema’s vision for national development and demand accountability from their elected representatives and demanded development, not politics.

“Let’s support President Hichilema’s agenda for a prosperous Zambia ” he said
