Construction works on the Lyamutinga Clinic, equipped with a solar power system in Mukukutu Ward, have reached over 85 percent completion.

The project is being implemented by Nalolo Town Council (NTC) at a cost of over K1.6 million, using the 2025 Expanded Constituency Development Fund (CDF).

According to a statement, the local authority awarded the contract in September last year to Verfan Construction and General Dealers to construct the new health facility, with the project initially scheduled for completion within six months.

Once completed, Lyamutinga Clinic is expected to benefit more than 1,500 residents, who currently travel over five kilometres to access medical services from Mukukutu Clinic.

In addition to the clinic construction, Nalolo Town Council has also drilled and installed a solar-powered water reticulation system at the clinic site to ensure access to clean and safe drinking water.

The water project was awarded to Kuwunda General Dealers at a contract sum of K326,626.12, and has since been completed 100 percent.

Meanwhile, NTC Director of Engineering Services Tresford Kabwe is leading a team of officers from the Engineering Department in supervising various CDF projects currently being implemented in the district.

Engineer Kabwe expressed satisfaction with the quality of workmanship on the ongoing projects.

The statement was issued by Buttyson Kandimba, Council Public Relations Officer for Nalolo Town Council.
