The Saint Dominic Catholic Church Outstation in Chipata’s Mugabi area, Nsingo Ward, Luangeni Constituency, is almost complete.
This was after Luangeni Member of Parliament for and Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly Moses Moyo donated cement at every stage of construction, amounting to nearly 400 bags in total.
Church Outstation Chairperson Paul Zulu explained that the old church was too small and worshippers were forced to pray outside.
Zulu said Moyo provided cement and blocks step by step, which raised the new structure to roof level.
He observed that the project has inspired hopes for clergy housing and other facilities with help from the business community.
Zulu said the faithful of Mugabi see the new church as a lasting symbol of unity, development, and partnership between leadership and the people.
And Women’s Chairlady Joyce Zulu confirmed that Moyo pledged to buy iron sheets to finish the roofing.
She added that the community is proud of the progress and grateful for his support.
