Lusaka-based artiste Madalitso Phiri, popularly known as Dalisoul Mwana Wamu Komboni, has found himself on the wrong side of the law after being slapped with multiple traffic charges following a road accident involving a Zambia Police motorbike.

According to police, the 42-year-old musician has been charged with dangerous driving, driving under the influence of alcohol, driving without a licence, failure to produce a fitness certificate, and failure to have third-party insurance.

The accident happened on Monday around 23:00 hours along Mosi-oa-Tunya Road, opposite Puma Filling Station in Lusaka.

Police Spokesperson Godfrey Chilabi confirmed that Inspector Kwibisa Mbuye (39), who was riding a police BMW motorbike, sustained minor injuries and is currently receiving treatment at Maina Soko Medical Centre.

The police motorbike reportedly suffered serious front damage, while Dalisoul escaped without injuries.

Preliminary investigations suggest the accident occurred when the musician’s vehicle allegedly cut in front of the approaching police motorbike, leading to the collision.

The vehicle has since been impounded and is awaiting inspection, while the artiste is expected to appear in court soon.
