Zambian music icon Macky 2, real name Mulaza Kaira, has once again sparked conversations across the country after sharing a powerful message following his meeting with musicians in Chingola, Copperbelt Province.

The award-winning artiste, who is now an aspiring Member of Parliament for Nchanga Constituency, revealed that he recently sat down with local musicians from Chingola in a meeting he described as personal and emotional.

According to Macky 2, the engagement was not about politics, campaign slogans or promises, but rather about reconnecting with his roots as an artist who began his journey in the same town.

“Yesterday, I sat down with the talented musicians of Chingola. Not as a politician. Not as an aspirant. But as one of them,” Macky 2 wrote.

The “Don’t Go” hitmaker reminded fans that before he became one of Zambia’s biggest music brands, he was once a young artist trying to make it in Chingola with limited resources and very little support.

Macky 2 openly stated that he understands the struggle that many young artists face, especially those who have talent but lack the necessary platforms to be discovered, supported and promoted.

“I know the struggle of chasing a dream with no platform. I know what it feels like to have talent but no platform,” he shared.

In his statement, Macky 2 stressed that Chingola artists need more than just recognition on social media or praise from fans. He said what they truly need are structures, systems and opportunities that can help them grow into sustainable careers.

The rapper and entrepreneur further expressed his commitment to helping local musicians access bigger stages, connect with industry stakeholders and contribute to building a creative economy that supports the youth of Chingola.

“Our artists need structures, not just praise. I’m committed to helping push their dreams, connect them to bigger stages and build a creative economy that works for Chingola’s youth,” he said.

Macky 2’s statement has been widely praised by supporters who believe his experience in music and youth empowerment makes him a strong voice for the constituency.

In a quote that has already begun trending online, the artist-turned-politician declared that while roads and infrastructure are important, young people also need opportunities that protect and nurture their ambitions.

“Let’s build not just roads, but also roofs over dreams,” he stated.

Macky 2 concluded his message by reaffirming his identity and intention to serve, signing off as Hon Mulaza Kaira, aspiring MP for Nchanga Constituency, and ending with the phrase “Iseni Tubombele CHAPAMO.”

As Zambia approaches the 2026 general elections, Macky 2’s growing involvement in politics continues to attract attention, especially among young people who see him as a symbol of ambition, resilience, and community-driven leadership.

With his strong influence in the entertainment industry and a loyal fanbase across the nation, many are now watching closely to see how his political journey will unfold in the coming months.
