The University Teaching Hospitals (UTH) Adult Hospital has appealed to members of the public for assistance in locating the relatives or guardians of an 18-year-old patient, Foster Mwansa, who is currently receiving treatment at the hospital.

According to a statement issued by the UTH Public Relations Unit, Ms. Mwansa was referred to the UTH Adult Hospital from Kanyama on 14 June 2026.

Hospital authorities said the patient arrived at the facility accompanied by a woman believed to be her guardian. The woman reportedly remained at the hospital on the day of admission but left the following morning and has not returned. No contact details were provided before her departure.

UTH said its Social Welfare Department is actively working to trace the patient’s relatives or guardians to ensure she receives the necessary family support during her treatment and recovery.

The hospital has assured the public that Foster Mwansa remains admitted and continues to receive appropriate medical care from the healthcare team.

The institution has since called on anyone with information that could help identify or locate the patient’s relatives or guardians to contact the UTH Adult Hospital Social Welfare Department or the hospital administration.

The appeal highlights the important role families and guardians play in supporting patients during hospitalization, especially young adults requiring ongoing medical care.

UTH has urged members of the public to share any relevant information that may help reunite Foster Mwansa with her family as efforts to trace her relatives continue.
