Police in Chipata have retrieved the body of a woman who was murdered after being sexually abused along the Chipata-Chadiza road. Acting Eastern Province commanding officer Davis Simwanza said the deceased was naked while both eyes were poked.
Mr Simwanza said the deceased had a deep cut on the head and that the body was found within Namuseche Correctional Facility farm in Chipata.
He said the deceased is alleged to have been murdered between 19:00 hours on Christmas Day and 06:00 hours yesterday.
Mr Simwanza said the body has not yet been identified but has since been deposited to Chipata Central hospital mortuary awaiting postmortem and identification.
He said no arrests have been made so far.
Mr. Simwanza also said a 69-year-old Malawian was murdered by unknown people in Lundazi district.
He said the deceased who was a farm employee was killed on an unknown date but between December 24th and December 25th, 2021.
