HOW SHOULD PRESIDENTIAL PHOTOGRAPHER CONDUCT HIMSELF?
…the case of Chellah Tikuta
By Francis Chipalo
I recently read an article with a similar title as this one, although I cannot remember the author, but I found the article very interesting.
The author never mentioned names but I found the views expressed therein to be very important which cannot be ignored especially that they relate to one who is found with the president.
Among the issues raised was the fact that whoever is found close to and with the President, should be extra careful in the manner they conduct themselves in the eyes of the public.
We are talking about the highest office of the land and therefore, one who is associated with it ought to be extra careful in conduct. If anything, there is a need to make some adjustments in your life once you begin rubbing shoulders with the President, because should you be careless, enemies are likely to use you as a link to the President, God forbid, but that can be possible.
I think it becomes therefore important that such people should be security conscience especially when on Presidential duty/assignments and should conduct themselves in a manner that is expected of them.
However, I have noticed this continued social media excitement by my brother Cornelius alias Chellah Tukuta, the current Presidential photographer to Mr Hakainde Hichilema.
No malice attached, but I think Chellah should make some adjustments now that he is found with the President otherwise he might one day post something serious and injuries to the office.
He should be reminded that many people held that office he is holding now and should at least learn from them on one or two things.
I understand the excitement especially that our colleague was once a victim of what was viewed as political in the previous regime, but he needs to be reminded that being a close contact to the President, society demands a certain behavior. Well, at least having worked as an image builder before, one thing I learnt is that people usually saw my boss in me, so I had to cut and sacrifice certain behaviors in order to protect the image of my boss.
Like I said, no malice attached but comrade Chellah should reduce on social media excitement being President Hichilema’s official photographer.
There are people working next to him who are my fellow journalists and their behavior is different from his,
otherwise he is a talented photographer no doubt.
My opinion!
