A rise in many Presidential candidates is a sign that Hichilema’s UPND has failed – Njobvu

By Francis Chipalo

Democratic Union President Ackim Antony Njobvu says the rise in people declaring interest to run for the Presidency in 2026 is a sign that President Hakainde Hichilema and the UPND have failed Zambians.

And Njobvu has again cautioned Zambians to avoid voting for a Patriotic Front – aligned candidate in next year’s elections, warning that doing so would be suicidal as the former ruling party party would want to take a revenge at the UPND.

Njobvu says the country needs a neutral person to preside over matters, including the fight between the UPND and PF.

Speaking on the Monday – edition of “chat back” on radio christian voice, Njobvu also warns that continuing with would equally be suicidal.

Njobvu says Zambia needs a radical leadership, driven by an innovative person as president, adding that Zambians should begin joining his party for the good of the country.

He advised Zambians to critically analzye people offering themselves for leadership, warning that some have corruption in their blood and others had nothing to offer, but were geared for revenge.

The outspoken leader has also observed that the UPND has struggled to deliver because it has recycled leaders who have run-out of ideas and needed to be retired.

Meanwhile, Njobvu has called on the Electoral Comission of Zambia (ECZ) to extend the voter registration to end of December in a bid to capture more people.

He noted that ECZ need to do a lot of voter education too, observing that the poor turnout as observed could be attributed to among others, the disappointment Zambians are facing from the UPND, a party which had made a lot of promises, but yet failed to deliver, and now feel that registering as a voter is a waste of time.

“The assurance I am giving Zambians is that we are different as politicians. I am different and offering myself to serve this country. We need people to go and register as voters so that we can end these problems in 2026 by voting for the right person,” he added.
