NATIONAL Democratic Congress-NDC Leader, Saboi Imboela, wants the amendment to the Public Order Act-POA to allow politicians to carry firearms whenever conducting political rallies and public meetings to protect themselves from violent cadres.
She feels that protection offered by State Security during political rallies has always proved not to be enough.
Meanwhile, Imboela has applauded the steps taken to engage Civil Society Organisations and Political Parties as to what changes should be made to the POA.

The Opposition Leader says she is looking forward to seeing a POA that will speak to the concerns of citizens and that of opposition political parties in areas such as the constitutional freedom of assembly.
