At least eight cattle have reportedly been killed after being struck by lightning in Sikalongo village, Choma district.

Sikalongo Ward Councilor, Howard Mukonka, who relayed the information to Byta FM News, noted that the incident occurred on the night of November 12, 2024.

Mukonka explained that the owner of the animals had left them in a nearby bush close to his residence.

The animals were found dead the following morning, with the probable cause of death being lightning following a downpour.
